Michael studied Art and Design at Rochester College of Art which led to a career in book design, working for many leading publishers. On retirement he returned to painting and explored different styles and techniques through attending various art courses, plus workshops through Network Arts.

Michael enjoys producing landscapes and seascapes that mostly reflect the local area of  Northamptonshire plus areas of natural beauty that he has visited on the coast of Britain. Michael is interested in the graphic shapes that he sees in nature, emphasizing their patterns and colour. Gouache is his preferred medium.

He has exhibited with NROS, Network Arts and Northampton Town and County and was proud to receive an award from NROS in 2024 which culminated in a solo exhibition at the Floor One Gallery, Rugby.

Michael works from his studio in Gt Doddington Northamptonshire and will be exhibiting at The Shoosmith Gallery and the central exhibition at Lamport Hall.
